After battling the Attack of the Evil Spam Bots for the past week, and spending too much time figuring out how to undo the damage they wrought on our database, I figured it was time to try a new approach.
So we’ve switched to WordPress with a different spam control and user authentication system which will hopefully be more user-friendly than our old system while doing a better job of keeping the bots at bay.
You do not need to register in order to leave comments, although you’ll find that registering is more convenient for you if you comment somewhat regularly.
The main site address: http://americanfootprints.com will bring you here.
Be sure to update your RSS feeds for the new WordPress site posts and comments.
If you want to look in the archives for the site prior to its changeover to WordPress, go to http://americanfootprints.com/drupal/. All the old urls from 2004 through July 2009 should continue to take you to the correct page, so (cross fingers), no link rot.
Let us know how the new site is working for you — suggestions or complaints are appreciated.
Thanks for all the patience of our regular readers during this extended messy housekeeping process!
